League
The design of League emerged from a fascination with Gem (an undigitised display face by Dan-X-Solo) alongside a fondness of Eric Olsen’s Maple Black. Taking a sprinkling of influence from both these two faces, League Black was created. The Black Italic weight offered a way of creating some tonal difference and context to use some of the more lyrical and expressive letterforms. Featured throughout Utopia Oblique, League features all glyphs from the Esperanto language, itself a utopian auxiliary language.
